For a server room or control room project in the UAE, an anti-static raised floor must be selected as an installed system. The finish, panel construction, supporting components and electrical design all need to match the project specification. These questions help buyers turn a general product request into a reviewable offer.
Is an anti-static finish the same as a complete ESD solution?
No. A product description is only a starting point. Request the electrical test method, conditions and results for the specified finish, together with the installation and grounding instructions. The project’s responsible electrical or ESD specialist should define acceptance testing.
Where a floor is used to ground personnel, the footwear and floor combination also matters. The EOS/ESD Association explains this system relationship. A panel label alone does not establish that the installed room meets the intended ESD control requirements.
Should we select HPL or PVC?
Ask for the exact grade offered. HPL and PVC are material families, and electrical performance must be verified for the particular product. Compare the documented static-control properties, wear and cleaning requirements, edge construction and replacement arrangements. Review a physical sample with the facility team before approving a finish.
Do not use colour or a photograph to infer an electrical rating. The purchase order should name the finish specification and the agreed evidence needed for acceptance.
Which loading information should accompany the RFQ?
Provide equipment weights, support positions and dimensions, and whether equipment will be moved across the completed floor. Mark the movement route and any cut panels near equipment. Ask the supplier to match its proposed assembly and test documentation to the consultant’s load requirements. A single kg/m² value is not a complete description of rack support or movement conditions.
How high should the floor be?
Use a coordinated service layout to determine height. Cable trays, intersections, access needs and any designed underfloor air distribution must fit within the available space. Confirm the finished level, actual clear space and support arrangement together. Existing thresholds and door openings may limit a renovation design.
What should be approved before shipment?
- The panel model, finish sample and support configuration.
- Drawings covering perimeter supports, openings and transitions.
- Relevant test reports and installation instructions.
- A packing list showing panels, accessories and agreed spares.
- Shipment scope, receiving arrangements and the approval status of any substitutions.
The UAE project consultant and importer should confirm project-specific approval and import documentation. Avoid accepting a general statement of compliance without the supporting documents for the offered system.
What should we send SunTree Floor?
Share the application, UAE delivery location, area, floor height, drawings, load criteria and electrical specification. Start with the steel anti-static floor system and request alternatives where the project requires them. Submit a project inquiry with the specification attached or summarized so the quotation addresses the actual room.
