Raised floors and modular wall panels meet at some of a technical room’s most important details: perimeters, doors, service openings and maintenance routes. Buying the two systems together can simplify coordination when the interfaces are defined. It does not remove the need to check each assembly against the project specification.
For contractors in the Middle East and South America, a coordinated inquiry should describe both the room’s horizontal and vertical surfaces and identify which parties are responsible for design, supply and installation.
Distinguish wall cladding from an independent partition
Wall cladding is installed against an existing supporting wall or structure. An independent partition separates spaces using its own specified framing and connections. These are different scopes, even when their visible surfaces look similar.
SunTree Floor’s wall system range includes steel gypsum panels, modular partitions, hook-on panels and metal sandwich panels. Select the construction by the required application and approved details rather than by the appearance of a product photograph.
Coordinate the floor-to-wall interface
Show the raised floor level and panel grid on the same drawing as the walls and doors. Clarify whether each wall terminates at the floor surface or continues to the structural base. Identify the support and fixing arrangement before finalizing quantities.
Do not assume that a removable floor panel can carry an independent partition. The proposed load path and anchorage need review by the responsible designer. Also check whether wall skirting or profiles would prevent a perimeter floor panel from being lifted for maintenance.
Door thresholds, ramps and steps need special attention. Their dimensions must relate to the final finished levels, access requirements and installation sequence rather than only the panel thicknesses shown in a catalogue.
Keep performance requirements separate and explicit
| Interface or requirement | Information to coordinate |
|---|---|
| Equipment loads | Floor assembly and support design |
| Partition support | Framing, anchorage and approved load path |
| Static control | Exact finish properties and grounding details where specified |
| Fire requirements | Evidence for the relevant assembly and specified test method |
| Air and service openings | Penetration details, seals and maintenance access |
| Cleaning and appearance | Approved surfaces, samples, joints and care instructions |
A floor test report does not establish wall performance, and a panel surface test does not automatically establish the performance of an assembled partition. Ask for the evidence required by the consultant for each proposed system. Report any unverified requirement as an open approval item before purchase.
Order the accessories that make the layout buildable
For the floor, schedule pedestals, stringers where required, perimeter supports, grommets and lifting tools. For walls, identify the applicable framing, clips, corner profiles, top and bottom details, skirting and fasteners. Quantities should follow approved drawings, including door and service openings.
Keep the component references distinct in the packing list. If the installation is phased, label materials by room or zone and coordinate delivery with the sequence. A combined shipment is useful only if all required components can be identified and safely received on site.
Prepare the regional project package
For projects in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Brazil, Chile or Peru, agree document requirements with the local consultant and importer. Specify the language needed for technical review and installation. Do not assume a combined supplier package replaces local approvals or the contractor’s design responsibilities.
Provide SunTree Floor with floor area and height, wall area and height, room plans, elevations, door locations, load requirements, finishes and destination. State whether the wall scope is cladding or partition construction and which services are included in the contractor’s package.
Compare the steel floor system with the relevant wall panel options and request a coordinated quotation. Ask for separate floor and wall schedules plus a list of interface assumptions so the project team can review the complete proposal.
