OA Raised Floor and Outlet Planning for Brazil Office Fit-Outs

An OA raised floor can provide accessible service space for an office fit-out, but the benefit depends on how outlets and cable routes are planned. For a Brazil project, approving floor panels before coordinating workstation positions can leave the installer resolving avoidable conflicts around floor boxes and panel cuts.

Treat the furniture plan, service layout and floor grid as one coordination package. The purpose is to make everyday access and later changes practical, not simply to hide cables below a new surface.

Begin with how the office will be used

Mark fixed workstations, shared desks, meeting rooms, circulation routes and equipment areas. Identify which furniture positions are confirmed and which may change. Ask the electrical and data designers to define outlet requirements for each zone.

Separate a known expansion need from a vague request for unlimited flexibility. For example, a tenant may expect a specific meeting room to become workstations later. That is a useful scenario to coordinate; promising that every possible future layout will work is not.

Overlay floor boxes and the panel grid

Show each floor box on the access-floor setting-out drawing. Check its dimensions, required depth, connection space and cutout detail against the proposed panel. Coordinate it with pedestal locations and services below.

Coordination item Decision to record
Furniture Outlet position remains accessible in the intended arrangement
Floor panel Approved opening and any required support detail
Floor box Model, depth, lid arrangement and connection requirements
Cables Routes and separation defined by the service designers
Finish Edge, lid and removable covering details

A floor box that fits within the nominal panel size may still conflict with supports or cable bends. Review the complete section and connection arrangement before approving the opening.

Check the finish and access method together

If carpet tiles or another covering is planned, ask how the finish aligns with the panel grid and how access will be restored after maintenance. A continuous covering may need a different removal approach from one designed around removable panels.

Review samples and a representative floor-box detail with the installer and facility team. Record who supplies the box, who makes the opening and who reinstates the finish. A clear responsibility split helps prevent a panel supplier and fit-out contractor from each assuming the other covers the same detail.

Respect the limits of a low-profile layout

Available depth must accommodate the actual services, including crossings and connections. Do not infer usable cable capacity from finished height alone. In renovation work, survey thresholds, doors and the base before finalizing the level.

Where a technical room or heavy equipment area is included in the office project, review it separately. An office-oriented configuration should not automatically be extended into rooms with different loading or electrical requirements.

Prepare documents for the Brazil project team

Use the project team’s preferred terminology and agree whether Portuguese drawings or installation information are needed. A label such as “piso elevado” should be supported by the exact system reference and component schedule. The local service designers remain responsible for the specified electrical arrangement.

Save the final floor-box positions and cable routes in the handover package. Identify removable panels and retain replacement references so later layout changes can be planned from an accurate record.

Review SunTree Floor’s OA network raised floor and send the Brazil office plan, floor area, available height, finish and outlet schedule to request a configuration review. The Brazil supplier checklist helps translate the approved layout into a complete order.
