A raised access floor order for a project in Saudi Arabia should begin with an approved room specification and a clear supply boundary. A panel price alone cannot tell a contractor whether the offer covers the support structure, finishes, perimeter details and accessories required on site.
This guide helps contractors and importers prepare an RFQ for data centers, server rooms, control rooms and commercial technical spaces. Use the project consultant’s requirements as the acceptance criteria; a country name does not define one universal floor specification.
Start with a room schedule
Separate equipment rooms from office areas. Record the room area, finished floor level, equipment layout, service routes and expected maintenance traffic. For an existing building, add a slab survey and the available height below doors and adjacent floors.
Finished floor height is measured to the top of the completed floor. It is not the same as unobstructed service clearance: panel thickness, supports and crossing services also occupy space. Mark any locations needing additional clearance before asking suppliers to select a pedestal range.
Compare complete configurations
| RFQ item | Information to request |
|---|---|
| Panel | Material, dimensions, thickness, edge construction and finish |
| Loading | Project load criteria and the test report for the proposed assembly |
| Understructure | Pedestal range, stringer arrangement and fixing details |
| Static control | Specified test method, acceptance limits and grounding detail |
| Accessories | Cutouts, grommets, ramps, steps, perimeter supports and lifting tools |
| Delivery | Quantity, packing dimensions, shipment terms and destination |
Do not approve an equipment room using only a uniformly distributed load figure. The reviewer also needs equipment support positions and the intended movement route. Ask the supplier to identify what its test report actually covers and submit unresolved loading questions to the project engineer.
Shortlist materials by application
Steel anti-static raised floor is a useful starting point for technical rooms. Compare the actual finish, load report and support arrangement rather than treating all steel panels as interchangeable. Calcium sulphate raised floor is another option where the specified finish and documented system performance fit the room.
For office areas, review cable routing, floor outlets and finish access separately. Using one panel throughout a building may simplify purchasing, but it should follow the room requirements rather than replace them.
Prepare the approval and delivery package
Ask for model-specific drawings, test reports, finish samples, an accessory schedule and installation instructions before the purchase order. Record any deviation from the tender specification in writing. Have the Saudi importer and project team confirm the documents and approvals required for the particular shipment and use; do not assume another project’s paperwork will be sufficient.
Agree where goods will be received, who will unload them and whether storage is ready. Panels should be protected according to the manufacturer’s handling instructions during the construction phase. Outdoor heat does not by itself establish the operating conditions inside a conditioned equipment room.
Request a project quotation
Send SunTree Floor the room schedule, drawings, area, finished floor height, load specification, finish and delivery location in Saudi Arabia. Include the required date on site and identify accessories already covered by another contractor. Request a raised floor quotation so the proposed supply can be checked against one agreed scope.
